Summertime and HOA pools go together like sunshine and smiles. At FRED Daily Pool Maintenance, we not only ensure your pool is crystal clear and inviting but also prioritize the safety of your community. Before you break out the floaties and sunscreen, let's dive into the top four safety tips for a worry-free summer pool season.

  1. A watchful eye is your best lifeguard: Even if your HOA pool is equipped with a lifeguard, remember that safety is a shared responsibility. Children should never be left unattended near or in the pool, even for a moment. Appoint a designated "Water Watcher" who will solely focus on the pool area, rotating this role amongst responsible adults. Remember, vigilance is key!

  2. Know your limits, avoid the depths:  Swimming is a fantastic way to stay cool and active, but it's crucial to know your swimming capabilities. If you're not a strong swimmer, stick to the shallow end and always swim with a buddy. Avoid overexertion and take regular breaks to rest and hydrate. Listen to your body and don't push yourself beyond your comfort zone.

  3. Rules aren't just for the clubhouse:  Your HOA pool likely has specific rules in place for everyone's safety. These might include restrictions on diving, running on the deck, or using inflatables. Familiarize yourself and your family with these rules and ensure everyone adheres to them. Remember, respect for the rules translates to a safer and more enjoyable pool experience for everyone.

  4. Lock it up when the fun's done:  When the pool isn't open, ensure the gates are securely locked and self-closing. This prevents unauthorized access, especially by curious children who might be tempted to explore when no one is around. A self-closing, self-latching gate provides an added layer of security, ensuring the pool area remains inaccessible when not supervised.

Bonus Tip from FRED:  A clean pool is a safer pool. Regular maintenance, including proper chemical balance and debris removal, helps prevent accidents and ensures a healthy swimming environment. If you need assistance with your HOA pool maintenance, our team at Horizon Commercial Pools is just a call away. We're committed to keeping your pool sparkling clean and your community safe all summer long.

Remember, a safe pool season is a fun pool season! By following these simple tips, you can ensure that everyone in your HOA community enjoys a splashing good time while staying safe and sound.
